After all, not every resume has the same format, requirements, and sections. Depending on your skills and experience level each resume may vary from each other.

What to Basic Details to Include in Your Resume?
Your resume should be able to convey two goals: One is is your Objective goal, you have to make sure here that your resume has everything your employer wants to see. Here is what you need to include in your resume to accomplish these goals!

1) Contact Information
List your contact details at the top of your resume! A great resume will have the following contact information:
Full Name — The preferred format is to put your full name in the resume. You could make it bold and italic to get a first impression on your details.
Professional Title — Right under your name, always include your professional title, like what position you are going to apply for. Your professional title should always mirror the job position you are applying for.
Personal / Professional Email Address — According to business2community, 76% of resumes are rejected because of unprofessional resume format. So, remember to put your professional email id, not just the one you created long back ago in your primary school. For example, avoid these types of email id in your resume: [email protected] or [email protected]
If you don’t have a professional email id, create one! Try to get your email id in your full name, possibly [first name] [last name] @ gmail.com.
Phone number & Address — Include your address and phone number. Remember to put the country code with your phone number.
2) Resume Summary / Resume Objective
Your resume summary makes the right impression for your job vacancy. Always remember to put your resume summary on top of the page and make sure it doesn’t exceed more than 2-3 sentences. Your resume summary should tell your work experience, what you have done in your career and if it’s possible also include which of your actions improved the organization.
And if you are a graduate with no experience to write on the resume you could include the following information in your summary: education/certification/skills required for the job and type of responsibilities you will be ready to help out.
3) Skills And Certifications

Fortunately, if you mention the right skills in your resume, you could easily get past ATS. Read the job requirements carefully, read what they are looking for in a person to hire them, and if you think you have the right skills they are looking to mention that in your resume.
You could always describe your achievements or skills using percentages and numbers to back them up.
For example, you could always power up achievements like this:
Improved overall quality standards of the facility.
Improved overall quality standards of the facility from 49% to 78% within 4 months.
Now, this looks more actionable to anyone who reads it. The employer could see how good you are at this service, and how good you would be an asset to their facility.
If you graduated and have no work experience in this field, you could mention the internships you had completed. After some relevant experience in this field, you could remove this or keep it.
4) Professional Experience
If you are an experienced person, then this will be your core part of your resume. You could have an outstanding history of professional experience to point out but if you didn’t know how to highlight these plus points, then someone else will snatch away your dream job!
Try to list your work experience in this format:
Job Title — Highlight your job title and just below it add a 1-2 sentence about what your position as this “job title” had done there.
Duties and Responsibilities — It will be better to include your duties and responsibilities in bullet points, as they will stand out and easy to read in this format. Instead of including basic duties, try to more positively, what your work has made changes in that firm, how you have helped in a special situation, etc.
5) Education Details
Education is another important section of your resume. Here you could describe your academic career with relevant skills and achievements and the degrees you earned. Received scholarship on your RN-BSN course? Feel free to add this to your resume. Remember to put your education section as a reverse chronological section, this will make your most recent academic career go on top.
Remember to mention your GPA only if you have a GPA of above 3.8. Do not mention anything below that might not be impressive! If you don’t have any work experience mention your education prior to skills and certifications.
10 Important Details to Add To Your Nursing Resume
This section is another important part of your resume. If you have any other skills relevant to this job role, mention it here.
1) Volunteering Experience / Honors / Awards:
Generosity and altruism are good characteristics in any field but especially in nursing. And a nurse’s resume should add the special assignments they have completed, honors and awards they received.
2) Professional Affiliations:
If you belong to any associations like Emergency Nurses Association or American Association of Critical Care Nurses, include them in your resume. Consider adding them in a format of affiliation name, date of admission, programs, and offices held, and a brief description of your work.
3) Special Education Details:
Add details about the nursing education you took like ADN, ASN, MSN, RN to MSN nursing programs, etc. Many facilities may consider these education details as their filtering method, and you don’t want them to reject your resume because of not including the details.

Providing your unit details in your resume is another way of telling them about your previous work experience.

- Don’t use passive voice on your resume — Using passive voice in your resume might look unclear and evasive.

- Don’t just list your responsibilities — The recruiter knows what would be your basic duties and responsibilities but what they don’t know is how well you have performed in those workspaces.
- Don’t use the same action verbs every time — Multiple uses of the same action verbs, like lead and managed, might seem boring and robotic.
- Don’t list your GPA if it is too low — Listing your GPA which is too low will affect your interview negatively. Consider you have listed a GPA of 3.2 and there is another candidate with a GPA of 4.5! Chances are the recruiter who would go for your opponent. You don’t want to miss your chance because of this!
- Don’t lie on your resume — Do not lie anything about your work experience and education. And also do not round your GPA up like 3.6 to 4 and 3.3 to 3.5 and all!
- Don’t brag — Avoid mentioning yourself the “exceptional” this or the “extraordinary” that.
